Lost Element

I'm about to head now to meet with one of my business partners to get the paperwork on a rock band he's managing and that I'm signing to a new venture I've just launched, Impeccable Music Group. The name of the band is Lost Element, and they're based in Houston, TX. They have a HUGE following with sold out shows around the city, a very rare feat considering that there is absolutely no rock music presence anywhere near here except in Austin, AND they already have a finished product. If you're a rock fan, you'll be hearing about this band very soon. I'll post some pics here as soon as I meet with them today. They have a sound similar to 3 Doors Down, in my opinion, with two lead singers and great musicianship. #STAYTUNED....

Beyonce, Beyonce...

My bro @RealTheWriter and I were having a convo about this new single Bey just dropped, "Run The World (Girls)", and we were trying to figure out what we felt about it. I've listened to it a couple more times today with a fresh ear, and here's what I think.

1. Bey is trying to establish a new sound, not just for herself, but to set a whole new trend in the "urban" space.

2. The hook is uber-catchy, if not as well written as some of her other hooks. But judging from the success of Chris Brown's "Look At Me Now", it doesn't have to be.

3. She is either going to win BIG, or flop HARD with this single. I'm going to buy any single she puts out just to support, but I'm curious to see if the general public latches onto it or pans it.

Have you heard it? I'm curious to hear your thoughts.

The Latest...

The past year since my last post has been one of tremendous successes...we began the year with our first # 1 album placement, a record we did called "Strung Out" on an artist named LeCrae's album Rehab:The Overdose...the album came out the 3rd week of January and within a week had topped the iTunes Hip Hop Album chart, the Billboard Christian chart, and the Billboard Christian chart!!! We've had songs on the radio, and singles, etc, before, but never anything like this. Our big brother John "CheeseBeats" Williams produced the record, and I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to be a part of such a successful project. In addition to this, JayTel and I signed a deal with MTV to place our catalogue in their programming...I updated my home studio to be able to churn out better quality music, both production and songwriting, to fully take advantage of this opportunity. JayTel and I will be leaving next week to head to Miami to work with our brother CP Hollywood (he produced "Million Dollar Girl" for Trina f/Keri Hilson & Diddy) on records for Trina's new album and several other projects. I plan to actually hit South Beach this trip, as we usually only see the inside of the studio whenever we go to Miami!

Stay tuned! I plan to start updating this blog more regularly, as I have a few developments in the works that are already shaping up to be monumental for me and my crew! LifeLine/Billy D Productions/Impeccable Music!!!
